What do I need to apply? 

Applicants will usually need: 

• A Bachelor’s degree with a classification of 2:2 or above (or equivalent). In some circumstances, a third-class degree may also be considered. 

• GCSE grade 4/C or above in English and Mathematics (or equivalent). 

• For Primary training routes, GCSE grade 4/C or above in Science (or equivalent) is also required. 

For Secondary training routes, applicants will also need good subject knowledge in the subject they wish to teach. This may be demonstrated through: 

• A degree in the subject 

• An A Level in the subject 

• A degree related to the subject 

• Relevant professional experience 

Subject Knowledge Enhancement (SKE) courses may be available for applicants who do not hold a degree in their chosen subject, or who completed their degree more than five years ago. Current SKE subjects include Chemistry, Computing, Languages, Mathematics, and Physics. 

If you do not currently meet the GCSE requirements, you may be able to complete a GCSE or recognised equivalency test before starting the programme. 

Applicants with qualifications gained outside the UK may be asked to provide a comparability statement from UK ENIC.
