Grade:             Grade 4, Point 6 – 14.

Salary:             £19,698 – £23,080

Contract:         6 Month Fixed Term

Hours:             37 hours a week.

Monday to Thursday 7:00 am – 10:30 am and 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm and Fridays 7.00 am – 10.30 am and 2.00 pm – 5.30 pm

The Local Academy Committee are seeking a Site Service Officer to provide a high quality and effective maintenance / repair and facility services to St Patricks, along with job requests from the Facilities Manager.

As a valued and dependable member of our Romero Facilities team, you will manage the school premises at St Patricks, in order to ensure a high standard of cleanliness and maintenance, whilst at the same time ensuring a safe learning environment for our children. The role will primarily be based at St Patricks. However, the post holder may be required to work on either a temporary or an indefinite basis at any premises at which we may provide services.  You will be expected to travel to the 8 schools which make up The Romero Catholic Academy (all are based in Coventry) as and when there is a need.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be responsible for the maintenance and security of the school premises, including ensuring a trained second key holder to cover any periods of absence.
  • Be flexible to changes of needs and able to reprioritise your workload and work on your own initiative where necessary
  • Be responsible for the premises outside of normal working hours in regards to locking/unlocking and any additional cleaning, setting of security alarm systems, carrying out security checks and responding to emergency calls
  • Undertake a range of re-decoration and minor maintenance work as agreed with the school Principal and Facilities Manager, e.g. minor plumbing, carpentry, electrical, unblocking of drains, repairing furniture, litter picks, gritting, sweeping etc
  • Be responsible for the day to day cleanliness of the premises inside and out and will undertake cleaning duties where required including collecting/assembling waste for collection and receiving deliveries of goods/equipment
  • Be the lead contact for any contractors and projects on site
  • Be committed to promoting the Catholic ethos of our school
  • Be a team player with good interpersonal skills and able to multi-task in a busy environment
  • Be energetic, enthusiastic and caring
  • Be able to show excellent organisational and communication skills with both children and colleagues
