The successful candidate will be required to work at various locations within the Romero Group as required.

Do you have a passion for IT and new and emerging technology? Would you like to develop this by supporting staff and children in schools, providing technical support for IT and invigorating the technology curriculum? If so, the Primary Goal IT Teacher’s Apprenticeship could be perfect for you!

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will achieve the following qualifications:

  • Level 3 Infrastructure Technician
  • Microsoft MTA Cloud Fundamentals
  • Microsoft MTA Networking Fundamentals
  • Microsoft MTA Software Development Fundamentals
  • Microsoft MTA Mobility & Devices Fundamentals
  • ITIL Foundation Certification

Responsibilities:

  • To increase the use of technology in schools by ensuring all hardware devices are well maintained
  • To ensure staff, pupils and parents are supported in the use of technology to enhance learning
  • To update the school’s website and social media platforms
  • To support lower level IT issues that arise. You will be supported by Primary Goal and the designated IT company working with the school
  • To support the teaching of computing and the embedding of technology across the curriculum by preparing relevant materials and working alongside pupils, parents and teachers
  • To run extra-curricular activities such as coding clubs, mini-geek squad, Minecraft club and Lego club

Training to be provided by Primary Goal:

  • Level 3 Infrastructure Technician Apprenticeship Standard (Networking and Architecture, Mobile and Operating Systems & Security, Cloud Services, Coding and Logic, Business Processes)
  • Comprehensive digital pre-apprenticeship induction programme (including health and safety, safeguarding, PREVENT, technical and curriculum specifics)
  • e-learning training materials
  • Specialist vendor and technical certificates
  • Access to practice labs to develop technical competency
  • 12 training days with Tablet Academy (specialist technology curriculum partner)
  • Curriculum knowledge base (lesson plans, resources etc)
  • Monthly assessor visits and competency checks
  • Support desk (technical, curriculum and pastoral)
  • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills and Key Skills development
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities module
  • Functional Skills in Maths and English (if required)

Being part of the Primary Goal community provides apprentices access to a range of other apprentices (with varying levels of experience) who can share good practice and offer suggestions and support. Our apprentices love being able to help each other!

Desired Qualifications:

Please be aware that there are no specific entry requirements for this apprenticeship.

GCSE Grade A-C in Maths, English and IT are highly desirable but applicants who are willing to work towards their Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths will also be considered.

Paid hours per week: 35 hours per week, specific hours to be determined prior to appointment

Expected Duration: 15 – 18 months

Salary: Apprenticeship – £3.90 per hour, £6350 term time only plus 3 weeks

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced criminal record check via the DBS.
