On behalf of the Academy Committee, we are seeking an inspirational, highly motivated and innovative Teacher of History to join our school and Humanities Faculty at Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School within The Romero Catholic Academy. This is an exciting time to be part of a growing team as we strive for academic excellence for all students in our care.
The Teacher of History position is an ideal opportunity to work with a passionate and dedicated team to continue building on the recent record of examination success within the department. This is an ideal opportunity for an NQT or an experienced teacher seeking a new challenge. The ability to also teach at KS4 and KS5 would be essential.
History is currently the most popular option chosen by our students at GCSE. We have worked hard to design our curriculum so that it enables our students to make good progress but also captures their hearts and minds triggering a curiosity for the subject leading to a deeper understanding of the issues raised. We believe that learning does not solely occur in the classroom and have organised many successful trips overseas to support our GCSE teaching but also to bring History to life.
Cardinal Wiseman is an 11-18 school in the north-east of Coventry which is on a journey of improvement. The school’s GCSE results in summer 2017 history had a pass rate of 80% A*-C and at A-Level we achieved 100% A*-B. This posts is instrumental in driving improvement in the school to enable even more students to achieve their full potential.
